An Update on Our Board of Adjustment Appeal

Thank you to everyone in Stem and southern Granville County who has supported Myth & Oak over the past several months. We have some good news to share.

On October 7, 2026, the Town of Stem Board of Adjustment heard our appeal regarding the use of our property at 126 Creedmoor Road. At the end of the hearing, the Board voted in our favor.

What happens next

The Board’s decision is not final until the written decision is approved. We expect that to happen at the Board’s meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. We also understand the Town may have the option to seek further review of the decision, and we have not yet heard whether it plans to do so.

Because of that, we are being patient. We are not bringing animals back to the property or reopening until the process is complete and we have clear guidance on what is allowed.

What we hope comes next

Once the decision is final, we hope to:

  • Bring animals back home to the farm

  • Resume our day-to-day operations

  • Begin offering tours and educational visits for our community

We have received many requests from families in Stem and nearby who want their kids to see animals, spend time outdoors, and learn where food and farm life come from. We look forward to sharing more about tours and education once we know what we are able to offer.

Thank you

We are grateful to our neighbors, friends, and supporters for their encouragement, and to the members of the Board of Adjustment for their time and careful consideration. We will post another update after the November meeting.
